You will be responsible for designing, coding, and enhancing system components, utilizing modern frameworks and agile practices. This role involves independent work and becoming a subject matter expert (SME), actively participating in team discussions, and contributing to problem-solving. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain and enhance existing applications for better performance and user experience, and document software designs and processes. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.

Essential skills include proficiency in IBM DB2/400, strong database management and optimization knowledge, and experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. You should be adept at troubleshooting complex software issues and integrating custom components. A minimum of 3 years of experience with IBM DB2/400 is required, alongside 6-7 years of hands-on AS/400 technology experience with DB2/400, CLP, and RPG programming. Experience with operating system upgrades, MQ series, Connect Direct, FTP, and data restore is advantageous. The ability to debug, test, and write SQLRPGLE and SQL, including stored procedures, is preferred. Experience with Banking and Finance applications on AS/400, and direct client interaction, are also beneficial.
