Join us as a Custom Software Engineer, where you'll design, build, and configure applications to meet critical business process and application requirements. This role focuses on leveraging AI-assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).

You will be instrumental in delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations. The position encourages the integration of pre-built AI services to enhance productivity, without requiring deep expertise in AI model engineering or agentic AI development.

Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing SAP Employee Central Payroll, including pay components, off-cycle processes, gross-to-net calculations, retroactivity, schemas, and rules. Utilize AI copilots to rapidly generate functional specifications, configuration notes, testing scenarios, and payroll validation logic. Support the entire delivery cycle from requirements gathering and solution design through UAT, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.

Ensure seamless integration between Employee Central (EC), Time Management, HRIS Sync, BIB, and payroll-relevant third-party systems. Perform payroll simulations, validations, reconciliations, and error diagnostics using AI-assisted accelerators. Enhance productivity by employing AI copilots for impact and configuration analysis, test script automation, defect analysis, and documentation creation.

Integrate pre-built AI services into payroll operations for tasks like automated anomaly detection on payroll variances, summarization of payroll runs, and intelligent categorization of payroll tickets. Apply AI-enabled tools to accelerate compliance checks, payroll audits, and batch run reviews. Maintain strict compliance with payroll regulations, audit requirements, data privacy laws, and security standards.

Essential for this role is strong hands-on experience in SAP Payroll, particularly with Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or SAP HCM Payroll fundamentals, including PCRs, schemas, wage types, retrocalculations, payroll calendars, off-cycle and special payroll runs, and integration with EC, Time Off, Time Sheet, and Benefits. A solid understanding of payroll posting to finance (FI/CO) and payroll reconciliation practices is also required.

We are looking for candidates with practical experience using AI copilots and LLM-based tools for analysis, documentation, test generation, and troubleshooting. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities such as automated validations, anomaly detection, and summarization is crucial. A foundational understanding of responsible AI usage and the limitations of AI tools in regulated HR/payroll contexts is also expected.
