This role focuses on building AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions using ABAP Cloud. You will combine deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling to design, implement, and scale intelligent SAP applications.

The position involves integrating ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and APIs, moving beyond simple automation to achieve greater autonomy in enterprise workflows. This is an opportunity to actively build advanced AI systems, not just utilize existing AI tools.

Design and build AI-embedded ABAP Cloud applications, integrating LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern programming models and cloud-native architectures, writing clean, testable ABAP code.

Develop agentic workflows with tools, planners, memory, and orchestration loops. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines (RAG) for contextual responses, designing effective prompt templates and safety boundaries.

Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using various SAP and non-SAP data sources. Implement chunking, indexing, and embeddings for production-grade RAG scenarios, ensuring factuality and traceability.

Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI applications for telemetry and failure analysis.

Prototype quickly, demo frequently, and iterate based on feedback. Scale AI prototypes into enterprise-grade production systems, focusing on performance, security, and compliance. Continuously refine AI behavior and orchestration strategies.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a maximum of 5 years considered. Candidates must have a strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles.

Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is crucial. Proficiency in building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval is essential.

Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, and CI/CD, are expected. The ability to translate complex business problems into AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement.

While not mandatory, experience with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, cloud services, agent frameworks, and vector databases would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of enterprise security, authorization, and compliance patterns is also advantageous.
