This role focuses on designing, configuring, and enhancing SAP Production Planning (PP) processes within discrete manufacturing environments. You'll leverage AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline requirement analysis, configuration, testing, and issue resolution. The objective is to deliver efficient production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes, incorporating pre-built AI services for enhanced functionality. Deep AI model engineering, vector database work, RAG, or agentic system development are not part of this role.

Configure and support core SAP PP processes, including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Production Orders & Execution, Routings, Work Centers & BOM Management, Capacity Planning & Scheduling, Backflushing & Costing Integration, and Goods Movements & Shop floor Reporting. Utilize AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, validate routings/BOMs, generate test cases for MRP and order creation, and automate documentation. Support the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through configuration, SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare. Integrate PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems (MES) using standard APIs and middleware. Employ AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements and change impacts, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation. Integrate pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights, intelligent issue classification, automated summarization of deviations, and smart suggestions. Leverage LLM-assisted troubleshooting for faster analysis of MRP exceptions, order failures, and material shortages. Ensure adherence to production governance, change controls, and data accuracy standards. Participate in AI-enhanced workshops and solution reviews. Collaborate with various teams to achieve end-to-end planning excellence and create reusable templates and AI-enabled best practices for SAP PP delivery.

A strong understanding of SAP PP is essential, particularly for discrete manufacturing processes encompassing BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience integrating SAP PP with MM (material availability), QM (inspection lots), SD (demand), and FI/CO (costing) is required. Familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture processes is also necessary. Proficiency in using AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators is expected. Comfort in embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning or execution, without custom model building, is key. An awareness of responsible AI usage and its limitations within manufacturing and planning environments is important. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to production variability, MRP outcomes, and resource planning. Ability to translate manufacturing requirements into scalable SAP PP configurations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams, coupled with a continuous learning mindset for adopting AI-assisted workflows, are vital.
