This role involves developing AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions on ABAP Cloud. You'll leverage deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling. The focus is on designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that seamlessly integrate with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, APIs, and enterprise systems, driving the evolution from automation to true autonomy.

This position is hands-on in building AI systems, not merely consuming AI tools. It offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of AI integration within SAP environments.

Design and build ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into core SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern frameworks like the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Develop clean, thoroughly tested ABAP code that integrates flawlessly with AI services and existing enterprise APIs. Integrate agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory, orchestration, and evaluation loops, directly with SAP processes. Build and integrate retrieval pipelines, utilizing both SAP and non-SAP data sources, to support production-grade Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) scenarios. Implement robust evaluation frameworks for AI behaviors within SAP processes and design essential guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Prototype rapidly, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback to accelerate innovation. Ensure AI prototypes are scalable, secure, and compliant for enterprise-grade SAP production systems.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required for this role. A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud is essential, including experience with RAP, CDS Views, OData, and clean core principles. Hands-on experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services into applications is a must. Demonstrated experience in building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval mechanisms. Solid software engineering fundamentals, encompassing design, testing, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. Ability to effectively translate complex business problems into innovative, AI-enabled SAP solutions. A 15-year full-time education is a prerequisite for this position.
