Join our team as a technically adept and delivery-focused Android Application Development Lead, instrumental in shaping infotainment applications through Android Automotive OS (AAOS). This pivotal role encompasses full-stack architecture, seamless HAL integration, and collaborative system-level efforts to deliver exceptional, automotive-grade user experiences. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 4 years of dedicated Android development experience, possessing in-depth expertise in AAOS, embedded systems, and advanced infotainment platforms.
This role is situated at our Bengaluru office and requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge infotainment applications utilizing AAOS, prioritizing modularity, performance, and long-term maintainability. Architect comprehensive full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback functionalities. Develop critical modules for VHAL and other HAL interactions via AIDL/HIDL, and integrate applications with essential system services and vendor-specific frameworks. Proactively address and resolve complex issues across application, framework, and HAL layers to ensure unwavering stability and optimal performance. Foster close collaboration with platform, hardware, and QA teams for integrated development and validation. Provide valuable mentorship to junior developers, championing best practices in architecture, code quality, and rigorous testing. Create and deliver detailed architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation blueprints to key stakeholders. Lead Android infotainment application development, ensuring adherence to high performance standards, and facilitating seamless integration across diverse automotive platforms.
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Android application development, with a preference for the automotive or embedded domains, is essential. Demonstrate strong proficiency in programming languages including Java, Kotlin, and C++ (versions 14/17). Possess a profound understanding of the Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and the MVVM architectural pattern. Showcase hands-on experience with core Android components such as Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers. Gain practical experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and the intricacies of HAL-to-app communication. Familiarity with AAOS car services and the nuances of infotainment integration is highly valued. Exposure to technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level is beneficial. Familiarity with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication mechanisms is required. Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and the utilization of mocking frameworks is a must. Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and essential debugging tools like adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is critical. Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE, along with ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) practices, including TARA and secure communication protocols, is highly desirable.
