As a Custom Software Engineer, you will architect, code, and refine software components across various systems and applications. Utilizing contemporary frameworks and agile methodologies, the aim is to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions precisely tailored to unique business requirements. This role emphasizes building AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications and extensions by merging expert ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI patterns. Focus is placed on high-performance, cloud-ready, production-grade solutions that leverage HANA pushdown principles and modern ABAP capabilities.
Design and develop ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, employing pushdown principles to maximize in-database processing. Build efficient data models and access patterns using CDS views, associations, and annotations. Implement performance-critical logic with AMDP/SQLScript when appropriate. Develop modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code following clean architecture practices and enterprise SDLC. Build services and APIs using modern paradigms like OData, ensuring stability and contract-first behavior. Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics to support both transactional and analytical consumption. Integrate ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling orchestration and retrieval-grounded outputs over governed SAP data.
A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a preference for 2-5 years. A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns, is essential. Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling practices, along with experience in AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios, is necessary. Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness, is expected. Experience with AI native build capabilities, such as LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries, is a key requirement. Familiarity with OData/service design patterns and API lifecycle management is strongly beneficial.
