This role is centered on building AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications and extensions. You will combine deep ABAP on HANA engineering expertise with agentic AI patterns, including LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation. The position emphasizes delivering high-performance, cloud-ready, production-grade solutions that utilize HANA pushdown principles and modern ABAP, along with governed AI capabilities.

Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA, emphasizing pushdown principles to minimize data movement and maximize in-database processing. Build efficient data models using CDS views, associations, and annotations, and implement performance-critical logic with AMDP/SQLScript. Create modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code adhering to clean architecture and enterprise SDLC. Design reusable data artifacts for various downstream consumers and model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics.

Build AI-enabled SAP experiences integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, supporting tool calling and retrieval-grounded outputs. Implement robust automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts, and establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors. Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and root-cause analysis. Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end solution delivery.

A strong foundation in ABAP Development on HANA is essential, including performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access. Proficiency with CDS views, modern data modeling, and concepts like associations and authorizations is required. Experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios is also a must. Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness, is fundamental.

Candidates should possess AI-native build capabilities, including LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries. Secondary skills like OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, and experience integrating SAP with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms are highly beneficial. Familiarity with SAP security, authorizations, and compliance requirements for sensitive enterprise data is advantageous. A minimum of 3 years of experience and 15 years of full-time education are mandatory.
