As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and configuring applications to meet evolving business process and application requirements. This role leverages AI-powered tools and copilots to streamline the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to issue resolution. You will focus on delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations, integrating AI services to enhance productivity without requiring deep AI model engineering expertise.

This position emphasizes the practical application of AI for accelerating tasks such as requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. The goal is to enhance delivery productivity and ensure seamless payroll operations, integrating pre-built AI services where beneficial.

Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), including managing pay components, off-cycle processes, gross-to-net calculations, retroactivity, schemas, and rules. You will utilize AI copilots to accelerate the generation of functional specifications, configuration notes, and testing scenarios. The role involves supporting the full delivery cycle, from requirements gathering to post-go-live stabilization, ensuring seamless integration with Employee Central (EC), Time Management, HRIS Sync, BIB, and third-party systems.

AI-assisted productivity is a core component, involving the use of AI copilots for impact and configuration analysis, test script automation, defect analysis, and documentation creation. You will integrate pre-built AI services for tasks like anomaly detection and summarization of payroll runs. Ensuring compliance with global payroll regulations and collaborating with HR, finance, and technical teams are also critical aspects of this role.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a strong foundation in SAP Payroll expertise, including hands-on experience with Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or SAP HCM Payroll fundamentals like PCRs, schemas, wage types, retrocalculations, and payroll calendars. Practical experience using AI copilots and LLM-based tools for analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting is essential. You should also understand responsible AI usage and its limitations.

General professional skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, the capacity to translate business rules into accurate payroll configurations, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
