As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing custom software solutions. This role involves designing, coding, and improving components across various systems and applications. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions precisely tailored to meet specific business requirements.

Our focus is on packaged application development, where you will integrate AI-assisted development tools to streamline processes. This includes accelerating requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, all while ensuring efficient procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration. While you'll utilize AI capabilities, deep involvement in complex AI model development is not expected.

Key responsibilities include the functional and technical delivery of SAP Materials Management (MM) processes. You will configure and optimize critical MM modules such as Procure to Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Source List, Vendor Management, Inventory Management, and Material Master Data.

Utilize AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configuration logic, and create high-quality test cases, while also automating key documentation. Support the end-to-end project lifecycle from requirements gathering to hypercare.

Apply AI tools to accelerate requirement interpretation, process design, data validation, and error diagnostics. Enhance MM operations by integrating pre-built AI services for automated classification, predictive signals, and intelligent summarization of exceptions. Leverage LLM-assisted troubleshooting to reduce incident resolution times.

Ensure adherence to procurement governance, audit policies, and material master standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, warehouse, finance, and production to deliver cohesive MM solutions. Contribute reusable templates and AI-augmented best practices.

A strong foundation in SAP MM is essential, including a thorough understanding of P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management. Proven experience in configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies is required.

Familiarity with integration across SD, FI, PP, and QM modules is expected, along with knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing procedures, and common MM troubleshooting patterns.

We are looking for individuals with hands-on experience using AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation is key. A solid understanding of responsible AI usage and its impact on data quality is also important.
