We are seeking a technically adept and delivery-oriented Android Application Development Lead. This position is crucial for driving the design and development of innovative infotainment applications using Android Automotive OS (AAOS). The role encompasses full-stack architecture, critical HAL integration, and essential system-level collaboration to achieve high-performance, automotive-grade user experiences. An ideal candidate will possess significant experience in Android development, with a profound specialization in AAOS, embedded systems, and advanced infotainment platforms.

Take the lead in designing and developing cutting-edge infotainment applications specifically for AAOS, emphasizing modularity, optimal performance, and robust maintainability. Architect comprehensive full-stack solutions for key features such as media playback, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback functionalities. Develop essential modules for seamless interaction with VHAL and other HALs, utilizing AIDL/HIDL. Integrate applications effectively with system services and vendor-specific frameworks. Proactively identify and resolve issues across application, framework, and HAL layers to ensure unwavering stability and peak performance. Foster strong collaboration with platform, hardware, and QA teams for smooth integration and thorough validation processes. Mentor junior developers, championing best practices in architecture, code quality, and rigorous testing methodologies. Create and present clear architecture diagrams, detailed technical specifications, and implementation insights to project stakeholders. Spearhead the development of Android infotainment applications, guaranteeing high performance, strict compliance, and seamless integration across diverse automotive platforms.

A minimum of 4 years of dedicated experience in Android application development is essential, with a strong preference for experience within automotive or embedded domains. Demonstrate strong proficiency in programming languages including Java, Kotlin, and C++ (versions 14/17). Possess a deep and thorough understanding of the Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and the MVVM architectural pattern. Show practical experience with core Android components such as Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers. Gain hands-on experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and effective HAL-to-application communication. Familiarity with AAOS car services and the intricacies of infotainment integration is highly beneficial. Exposure to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN bus at the application level is desirable. Experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication is advantageous. Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks is expected. Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and essential debugging tools like adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is required. Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE standards is a plus. Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) and cybersecurity practices, including TARA and secure communication protocols, is also valued. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related Engineering field is mandatory.
