Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, focusing on building AI-native enterprise applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This role blends strong platform engineering with cutting-edge AI application patterns like LLMs and retrieval augmentation.

You will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and managing cloud applications on SAP BTP, transforming them into intelligent systems through rapid prototyping and production hardening.

Develop and deploy cloud applications on SAP BTP, encompassing platform administration, solution design, and full-stack development. Build robust backend services and APIs using Node.js patterns, and create responsive user interfaces with SAPUI5. Design and implement data models for SAP HANA persistence.

Configure SAP BTP environments, including subaccounts, service instances, and connectivity artifacts. Package and deploy applications using MTA formats. Integrate LLM-powered features, tool calling, orchestration, and retrieval-grounded experiences (RAG) into applications.

Ensure engineering excellence through Git-based workflows, Agile methodologies, and effective debugging. Implement evaluation loops to monitor and improve AI behavior.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in software engineering is required. Proficiency in SAP BTP Application Development fundamentals, including platform architecture, administration basics, solution design, and full-stack development, is essential.

Demonstrated experience in full-stack implementation patterns, including backend services, APIs, data models, and UI integration. Strong software engineering fundamentals, clean code practices, a testing mindset, and CI/CD orientation are expected. Ability to transition from prototype to production is key.

Familiarity with common BTP application development tooling and patterns, such as SAP Business Application Studio, is highly beneficial. A comprehensive 15 years of full-time education is a prerequisite for this role.
