This position offers a dynamic environment where you can leverage your expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) to drive the design and development of cutting-edge infotainment applications. The role encompasses full-stack architecture, HAL integration, and crucial system-level collaboration to achieve high-performance, automotive-grade user experiences.

Key responsibilities include developing infotainment applications within the AAOS environment, emphasizing modularity, performance, and maintainability. You will build modules for seamless interaction with VHAL and other HALs using AIDL/HIDL. Integrating applications with system services and vendor-specific frameworks is also vital. Proactively resolving issues across application, framework, and HAL layers ensures stability and optimal performance. Collaboration with platform, hardware, and QA teams is essential for smooth integration and validation. Mentoring junior developers and upholding best practices in architecture, code quality, and testing will be part of your contribution. Furthermore, you will create and present comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required, with a specific emphasis on Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions. Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ (14/17) is essential, alongside a deep understanding of the Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture. Experience with Android components such as Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers is necessary. Hands-on experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and HAL-to-app communication is expected. Familiarity with AAOS car services and infotainment integration is beneficial. Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level, as well as exposure to media, phone, navigation apps, and cloud communication, is valuable. Knowledge of partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication is also sought. Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks is required. Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and debugging tools like adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is crucial. Familiarity with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ASPICE, and ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) is a plus.

A Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, specifically in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical fields, is a mandatory educational qualification. This role is based in our Bengaluru office.
