As a Custom Software Engineer, you will architect and develop innovative SAP solutions on ABAP Cloud. This role is pivotal in building AI-native, cloud-ready applications by integrating deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with advanced AI capabilities.

You'll leverage agentic AI architectures and Large Language Models (LLMs) to create scalable, intelligent SAP applications. The focus is on designing, implementing, and scaling these applications, moving from simple automation to sophisticated autonomy.

Design and construct ABAP Cloud applications that infuse LLM-driven intelligence into core SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions utilizing the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Develop robust, testable ABAP code designed for seamless integration with AI services and enterprise APIs. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to deliver contextual and grounded responses. Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using diverse SAP and non-SAP data sources, ensuring factuality and traceability in AI-driven workflows. Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling to ensure quality, safety, and reliability.

A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud is essential, including proficiency in RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Demonstrate hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications. Proven experience in building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval mechanisms. Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as design, testing, and CI/CD practices. Ability to effectively translate complex business problems into innovative, AI-enabled SAP solutions. A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required, with a mandatory 15 years of full-time education.
