The Custom Software Engineer will work within a dynamic team environment, contributing to the full software development lifecycle. Emphasis is placed on delivering efficient and robust software that meets the unique demands of automotive infotainment systems, ensuring a cutting-edge user experience.
Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP) for digital cockpit SoCs, including boot, clock tree, and peripheral initialization. Integrate display drivers for automotive-grade panels using frameworks like DRM/KMS or QNX Screen API. Develop audio BSP, managing multi-channel PCM stream operations. Configure Linux kernels using Yocto/Open Embedded, authoring device trees and managing power. Integrate GPU drivers and graphics stacks for multi-display cockpit rendering. Customize Android system images, including vendor partitions, HAL modules, and SELinux policies. Validate bootloader integration, splash screens, and secure boot mechanisms. Integrate connectivity stacks for peripheral communication. Debug platform issues using various tools and document BSP integration, HAL designs, and platform configurations.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Automotive Engineering is required, with a minimum of 15 years of full-time education. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in the automotive infotainment domain, specifically digital cockpits, is essential. Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for Linux/Android SoC BSP development, along with experience in Yocto Project/Open-Embedded build systems, is mandatory. Familiarity with Android HAL development, Linux device driver development, and AOSP build systems is also critical. Experience with display interfaces and U-Boot bootloader configuration is necessary. Exposure to specific SoC platforms like Qualcomm SA8xxx or NXP i.MX 8 series is advantageous.
