You'll build high-performance, cloud-ready applications using HANA pushdown principles and modern ABAP, incorporating governed AI capabilities for reasoning and action within SAP workflows. The emphasis is on creating intelligent, production-grade solutions without the need for training foundation models from scratch.

We are seeking a Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance software components. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business requirements.

Design and implement ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, utilizing pushdown principles and efficient data models with CDS views. Develop modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code following clean architecture practices. Build services and APIs using modern paradigms like OData, ensuring stability and contract-first behavior. Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics for both transactional and analytical purposes. Integrate ABAP services with LLM capabilities for agentic AI experiences, including tool calling and retrieval-grounded outputs.

Implement automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts to ensure performance and correctness. Establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors and introduce guardrails for AI outputs, including authorization-aware filtering and redaction rules. Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and design robust error handling mechanisms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end solution correctness and performance.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a preference for 2-5 years. Strong proficiency in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns, is essential. Expertise with CDS views, modern data modeling, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts is crucial. Experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios is also required.

Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness, is expected. Candidates must possess AI native build capabilities, including LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundary implementation. A 15-year full-time education is a mandatory requirement for this position.
