Join us as a Custom Software Engineer and build cutting-edge AI-native enterprise applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This role combines strong platform engineering with advanced AI concepts like LLMs and agentic patterns.

You will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and operating cloud applications, evolving them into intelligent systems through rapid prototyping and production hardening.

Develop and enhance custom software solutions, writing code and designing components across various systems. Utilize modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performance applications tailored to specific business needs.

Build and manage cloud applications on SAP BTP, covering platform fundamentals, administration, solution design, and full-stack development. Create responsive user interfaces with SAPUI5 and integrate them with backend services.

Design data models and database artifacts, connecting applications to SAP HANA for persistence. Configure platform environments, including subaccounts and service instances, and set up connectivity for external integrations.

Implement AI-driven features using LLMs, tool calling, and memory management. Develop retrieval-grounded experiences (RAG) for enterprise content and APIs, ensuring clear fallback behaviors.

Maintain engineering excellence through Git-based workflows and Agile/Scrum practices. Debug and resolve complex issues across backend, database, and service exposure.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required for this role.

Must possess strong SAP BTP Application Development skills, including platform architecture, administration basics, solution design, and full-stack development.

Demonstrate hands-on full-stack implementation experience with backend services, APIs, data models, and UI integration. Solid software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, and CI/CD orientation, are essential.

Experience with Node.js-based service patterns for backend development and SAPUI5 for frontend development is expected. Proficiency in data modeling and designing database artifacts for SAP HANA-based persistence is also required.

Familiarity with platform setup, deployment engineering using MTA artifacts, and Git-based workflows for collaboration is necessary. Experience operating within Agile/Scrum delivery models is important.
