This role focuses on building AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions utilizing ABAP Cloud. You'll leverage deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise, combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling, for rapid experimentation and innovation. The position involves designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that seamlessly integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems, driving from automation towards autonomy.

As a key member of the team, you will actively construct AI systems rather than merely consuming AI tools. This is an opportunity to shape the future of SAP solutions by embedding advanced AI capabilities directly into core business processes.

Design and develop ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes, using modern frameworks like RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP). Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions with event-driven patterns and cloud-native architectures, ensuring clean, testable ABAP code integrates with AI services and enterprise APIs.

Build agentic workflows, integrating LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with SAP Cloud services for contextual responses. Develop robust prompt templates, grounding strategies, and fallback logic for enterprise SAP use cases, ensuring factuality and explainability in AI-driven workflows.

Construct and integrate retrieval pipelines using diverse SAP and non-SAP data sources. Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI-enabled applications and iterate rapidly on prototypes, moving them to enterprise-grade production systems with a focus on performance, security, and compliance.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required for this role, with a maximum of 5 years. You must possess a strong command of SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications, as well as building RAG pipelines, is essential.

Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, and CI/CD, are crucial. The ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement. Familiarity with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, and cloud services is strongly beneficial, as is exposure to agent frameworks and vector databases.
