You will be instrumental in designing, configuring, and refining SAP Production Planning (PP) processes within discrete manufacturing environments. This position utilizes AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution. The focus is on creating efficient production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes, with opportunities to integrate pre-built AI services where beneficial. No extensive AI model engineering or vector database work is required for this role.

Key responsibilities include configuring and supporting SAP PP functionalities such as Material Requirement Planning (MRP), production orders, routings, work centers, BOM management, capacity planning, scheduling, backflushing, and costing integration. You will utilize AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, validation of routings/BOMs, generation of test cases, and automation of documentation. This role involves supporting the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare.

Furthermore, you will integrate SAP PP with other modules like MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems (MES) using standard APIs and middleware. AI-assisted productivity tasks include using AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation. Integration of pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights, intelligent classification of issues, and automated summarization of deviations is also a key aspect. LLM-assisted troubleshooting will be employed to reduce analysis time for MRP exceptions and order failures.

We are seeking candidates with strong SAP PP expertise and a deep understanding of discrete manufacturing processes, including BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience with integration across MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO modules, along with familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture, is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess AI-ready skills, demonstrating the ability to use AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators. Comfort in embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning or execution is required, along with an awareness of responsible AI usage limitations.

General professional skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities related to production variability and resource planning. The capacity to translate manufacturing requirements into scalable SAP PP configurations is vital. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively across technical and operational teams. A continuous learning mindset and comfort with adopting AI-assisted workflows are highly valued. A minimum of 3 years of experience and 15 years of full-time education are prerequisites for this role.
