Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer and play a key role in developing innovative, AI-native SAP solutions. This position focuses on building cloud-ready applications by integrating deep ABAP expertise with cutting-edge AI architectures, large language models (LLMs), and rapid experimentation.

You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that leverage ABAP Cloud, LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems. This role is about actively constructing AI systems, moving beyond just using AI tools to achieve greater autonomy in enterprise workflows.

Design and build ABAP Cloud applications, embedding LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern frameworks like RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and event-driven patterns.

Integrate LLMs and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services. Build agentic workflows, including tools, planners, and memory, within SAP processes. Develop robust prompt templates and grounding strategies for enterprise SAP use cases.

Construct retrieval pipelines using diverse SAP and non-SAP data sources. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven SAP workflows. Implement evaluation frameworks and guardrails for AI behavior, focusing on quality, safety, and reliability.

Prototype rapidly, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback. Transition AI prototypes into enterprise-grade SAP production systems with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and compliance. Continuously refine AI behavior and orchestration strategies.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required, with a minimum of 3 years of experience being essential for this role. Candidates must possess strong SAP ABAP Cloud skills, including RAP, CDS Views, OData, and adherence to clean core principles.

Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is crucial. Proficiency in building RAG pipelines, understanding embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval is necessary. A solid foundation in software engineering principles, including design, testing, and CI/CD, is expected.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to translate complex business problems into actionable, AI-enabled SAP solutions. Familiarity with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, and cloud services is strongly beneficial, as is exposure to agent frameworks and vector databases. Knowledge of enterprise security and compliance patterns is also advantageous.
