Innovate and build AI-native enterprise applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This role focuses on combining strong platform engineering with agentic AI application patterns, including LLMs, tools, and retrieval mechanisms. You will be responsible for building, deploying, and operating cloud applications on SAP BTP, evolving them into intelligent systems through rapid prototyping and production hardening.

We are seeking a talented Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance components across various systems. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs, ensuring robust and efficient software development.

Develop and manage cloud applications on SAP BTP, encompassing platform fundamentals, administration, solution design, and full-stack development. Construct backend services and APIs using Node.js, and build responsive UI components with SAPUI5. Design database artifacts and data models, connecting applications to SAP HANA. Configure subaccounts, service instances, and connectivity artifacts for integrations. Implement LLM-integrated features, such as assistants within workflows, tool calling, and memory handling. Build retrieval-grounded experiences over enterprise content and APIs, ensuring clear fallback behaviors. Establish evaluation loops for measurable AI behavior changes and regression detection. Utilize Git for source control and collaboration within Agile/Scrum environments. Debug and resolve backend, database, and service exposure issues.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP BTP application development is essential. You must possess strong SAP BTP application development fundamentals, covering platform architecture, administration, solution design, and full-stack build. Proven hands-on full-stack implementation skills, including backend services, APIs, data models, and UI integration, are required. A solid understanding of software engineering principles, including clean code, testing, and CI/CD orientation, is crucial. The ability to transition effectively from prototype to production, particularly for AI-native applications, is expected.

A total of 15 years of full-time education is a prerequisite for this role.
