This role involves developing custom software solutions, focusing on designing, coding, and enhancing components for various systems and applications. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business requirements, emphasizing AI-native and HANA-optimized SAP application development.

The position centers on building robust, production-grade solutions that integrate deep ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI patterns, including LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation. The emphasis is on high performance and cloud-readiness, utilizing HANA pushdown principles and modern ABAP, along with governed AI capabilities that can reason, retrieve context, and assist within enterprise SAP workflows.

Core responsibilities include designing and developing ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, focusing on performance through pushdown principles and efficient data access patterns. You will build modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code aligned with clean architecture and enterprise SDLC, developing services and APIs with modern paradigms.

Responsibilities also encompass modeling enterprise business entities using CDS semantics for transactional and analytical consumption, and designing reusable data artifacts. A key area is building AI-enabled SAP experiences by integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling orchestration and retrieval grounded outputs. Quality engineering through automated testing and establishing evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors are also critical.

Furthermore, you will instrument services for observability, design robust error handling for enterprise flows, and support incident response. Integration with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and rapid prototyping to evolve solutions into scalable production systems are also part of the role.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a focus on custom software engineering. Essential skills include strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development on HANA, covering performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns. Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling practices, including associations, annotations, and authorization concepts, is mandatory.

Experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown is also required, alongside solid software engineering discipline such as clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness. The role also demands AI native build capabilities, encompassing LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.

Beneficial skills include OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, contract-first development, and experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes. Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, and SAP security/authorizations is also advantageous. A full-time education of 15 years is a prerequisite for this role.
