This role focuses on creating AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions by merging deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with advanced AI architectures. You will leverage agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and rapid experimentation to design, implement, and scale intelligent SAP applications. The position emphasizes integrating ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, APIs, and enterprise systems to drive automation towards autonomy.

You will be actively involved in building AI systems rather than just utilizing AI tools, pushing the boundaries of what's possible within the SAP ecosystem.

Design and build ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures.

Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services for contextual and grounded responses. Build and integrate retrieval pipelines from SAP and non-SAP data sources, ensuring factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven workflows.

Develop robust evaluation frameworks for AI behaviors integrated with SAP processes and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI-enabled SAP applications for telemetry, logging, and failure analysis.

Prototype quickly, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback to move AI prototypes into enterprise-grade SAP production systems, focusing on performance, security, and compliance.

A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in SAP ABAP Cloud development.

Must possess strong proficiency in SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is crucial.

Demonstrated experience building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval mechanisms. Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, and CI/CD, are essential.

Ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement. Familiarity with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, and cloud services is strongly beneficial, as is exposure to agent frameworks or custom orchestration logic.
