As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing software components across various systems and applications. Utilizing modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you'll deliver scalable, high-performance solutions meticulously crafted to meet unique business requirements. This role involves designing, coding, and refining these custom software solutions.

Your expertise will be applied to designing, configuring, and advancing SAP Production Planning (PP) processes within discrete manufacturing settings. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools, including copilots, to streamline requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution. The focus is on ensuring efficient production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging, with opportunities to integrate pre-built AI services where beneficial.

Key responsibilities include configuring and supporting critical SAP PP processes such as Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Production Orders & Execution, Routings, Work Centers & BOM Management, Capacity Planning & Scheduling, Backflushing & Costing Integration, and Goods Movements & Shop floor Reporting. You will use AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, validate routings/BOMs, generate test cases for MRP and order creation, and automate documentation.

This role encompasses full lifecycle delivery, from requirements gathering and design to configuration, SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare support. Integration of PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems (MES) via standard APIs and middleware is crucial. You will also utilize AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation. Integration of pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights, intelligent classification of issues, and automated summarization of deviations is also expected.

A strong foundation in SAP PP is essential, including a deep understanding of discrete manufacturing processes, BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience with integrations across MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO, along with familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture, is required.
