This role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing custom software solutions with a specialization in SAP MM Materials Management. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline processes, from requirement analysis to problem resolution, ensuring efficient procurement and inventory management. The position integrates pre-built AI capabilities to boost productivity without requiring deep AI model development.

As a Custom Software Engineer, you will craft scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs, utilizing modern frameworks and agile methodologies. The role emphasizes delivering streamlined procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration.

Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing SAP MM processes such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Vendor Management, and Inventory Management. You will utilize AI copilots to generate functional specifications, create test cases, and automate documentation. Support will be provided across the entire delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare.

Additionally, you will integrate MM with other SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and external systems using standard APIs and middleware. AI tools will be applied to accelerate requirement interpretation, data validation, error diagnostics, and test creation. You will also integrate pre-built AI services for enhanced MM operations and utilize LLM-assisted troubleshooting. Ensuring compliance with procurement governance and collaborating with cross-functional teams are also vital aspects of this role.

A strong foundation in SAP MM expertise is essential, including a deep understanding of P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management. Experience in configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, and release strategies is required. Familiarity with integration across SD, FI, PP, and QM, along with knowledge of IDocs and common MM troubleshooting patterns, is necessary.

AI-ready skills are also crucial, specifically hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation is key, alongside an understanding of responsible AI usage and its limitations.
