Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer and play a key role in developing innovative, AI-native enterprise applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).

This role involves a blend of strong platform engineering skills and cutting-edge AI application patterns, including Large Language Models (LLMs). You will be instrumental in building, deploying, and optimizing cloud applications, transforming them into intelligent systems through rapid prototyping and robust production hardening.

Engineer cloud applications on SAP BTP, managing aspects from platform fundamentals and administration to solution design and full-stack development. Deliver comprehensive solutions by developing backend services and APIs with Node.js, and creating responsive frontend components using SAPUI5. Design and implement data models, tables, views, and entities, integrating applications with SAP HANA persistence patterns. Configure SAP BTP environments, including subaccounts, service instances, roles, and connectivity artifacts for seamless integration. Build advanced AI-native features within applications, such as LLM-integrated assistants, tool calling, orchestration, and memory management. Develop retrieval-grounded experiences (RAG-style) using enterprise content and APIs, with clear fallback mechanisms. Establish evaluation loops for AI behavior monitoring and regression detection. Utilize Git for source control and collaboration, operating within Agile/Scrum methodologies. Debug and resolve complex issues across backend, database, and service exposure layers.

A strong foundation in SAP BTP application development is essential, encompassing platform architecture, administration, solution design, and full-stack development. Demonstrated full-stack implementation experience, including backend services, APIs, data models, and UI integration. Proficiency in core software engineering principles, clean code practices, a testing mindset, and CI/CD orientation. Ability to transition solutions from prototype to production environments, with an understanding of AI-native expectations. Experience with Node.js for backend services and SAPUI5 for frontend development. Familiarity with SAP HANA for data modeling and persistence. Practical experience with Git-based workflows and Agile/Scrum delivery models. Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. A full-time education spanning 15 years is mandatory.
