Join us as a Custom Software Engineer, focusing on developing cutting-edge, AI-native SAP applications optimized for HANA. You will leverage deep ABAP on HANA expertise and agentic AI patterns to build high-performance, cloud-ready solutions.

This role emphasizes HANA pushdown principles, modern ABAP, and governed AI capabilities. You will create solutions that can reason, retrieve context, and assist within enterprise SAP workflows, without the need to train foundation models from scratch. Your work will directly contribute to delivering intelligent SAP workflows and reducing operational risk.

Design and develop ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, utilizing pushdown principles and efficient data models with CDS views. Implement performance-critical logic using AMDP/SQLScript and adhere to clean architecture practices for modular and testable code. Develop services and APIs using modern paradigms like OData, ensuring stability and contract-first behavior. Model enterprise business entities with CDS semantics for both transactional and analytical purposes. Build AI-enabled SAP experiences integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling and retrieval-grounded outputs. Implement automated tests for ABAP services and establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors. Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and integrate ABAP on HANA services with various ecosystems.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required, with a strong foundation in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning and pushdown techniques. Proficiency with CDS views, modern data modeling, and experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios are essential. Demonstrate solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness. Experience with AI-native build capabilities, such as LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries, is crucial. Familiarity with OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is highly beneficial.
