Develop and refine MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow models for BCM application software and automotive body electronics. Translate system requirements into detailed model-based designs, including control logic and state machines.
Implement core BCM functions like lighting, central locking, and power windows. Conduct thorough model simulations, debugging, and verification in MIL/SIL environments. Support automated code generation and collaborate with embedded software teams for seamless integration.
Maintain comprehensive model documentation, design notes, and calibration parameters. Review model quality against established guidelines. Engage with cross-functional teams to clarify functional behavior and resolve technical challenges. Assist in defect analysis and model updates throughout the development lifecycle. Ensure adherence to automotive engineering processes and customer delivery expectations.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required for this role. A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is expected.
Possess hands-on expertise in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for model development, debugging, and simulation. Experience in creating control logic, state machines, and reusable subsystems is essential. A strong understanding of the automotive ECU software development lifecycle, particularly for BCM or body electronics, is beneficial.
Familiarity with Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environments, along with unit testing methodologies, is required. Experience with automatic code generation and embedded systems is desirable. Working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols and diagnostic standards is advantageous. Exposure to requirements management, configuration management, and defect tracking tools is also a plus.
