Spearhead the development of innovative custom software solutions as a Custom Software Engineer. This role focuses on designing, coding, and enhancing system components using modern frameworks and agile methodologies. You will craft scalable, high-performance solutions meticulously tailored to meet specific business requirements, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across diverse applications.

The core of this position lies in building AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions. You will leverage deep expertise in ABAP and the SAP platform, combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling. The objective is to design, implement, and scale intelligent SAP applications that integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems, driving progress from automation towards autonomy.

Design and build ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures, ensuring clean and testable ABAP code. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines (RAG) with ABAP Cloud services to deliver contextual, grounded responses.

Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using both SAP and non-SAP data sources. Implement agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory, orchestration, and evaluation loops, seamlessly integrated with SAP processes. Design prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and safety boundaries suitable for enterprise SAP use cases. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability in all AI-driven SAP workflows.

A minimum of three years of professional experience is required for this role. Essential skills include SAP ABAP Cloud, with proficiency in RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. You must possess hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications and have a proven track record in building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval.

Strong software engineering fundamentals encompassing design, testing, and CI/CD are crucial. The ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is highly valued. While not mandatory, experience with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, cloud services, agent frameworks, vector databases, and enterprise security patterns will be strongly beneficial.
