Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, focused on creating cutting-edge SAP applications. This role involves designing, coding, and enhancing components using modern frameworks and agile practices. You will build high-performing, scalable solutions tailored to specific business needs, emphasizing AI-native patterns integrated with HANA optimization.

The core of this role is to develop AI-enabled SAP experiences by combining deep ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI capabilities. You will leverage LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation mechanisms to deliver production-grade solutions that can reason, retrieve context, and act within enterprise SAP workflows.

Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA, focusing on pushdown principles and efficient data access.

Implement modern ABAP development practices, ensuring code is modular, testable, and maintainable.

Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics for transactional and analytical consumption.

Build AI-enabled SAP experiences, integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities for tool calling and grounded retrieval.

Establish automated testing and evaluation loops for both AI behaviors and ABAP components to ensure quality and reliability.

Instrument services for observability, design robust error handling, and support incident response for production systems.

Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, collaborating across teams for end-to-end solution delivery.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a preference for 2-5 years.

Candidates must possess strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning and efficient SQL access patterns.

Proficiency with CDS views, modern data modeling, and experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios are essential.

Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness, is expected.

Experience with AI native build capabilities, such as LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries, is a must.

Additional beneficial skills include OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, and familiarity with SAP security and authorization.
