This role focuses on developing and enhancing custom software solutions, specifically within SAP MM. We are seeking an engineer who can utilize AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline tasks. This includes accelerating requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and problem resolution. The aim is to optimize procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration through integrated AI capabilities, without requiring deep expertise in LLM development.

Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing SAP MM processes such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Vendor Management, and Inventory Management. You will use AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configuration logic, and create comprehensive test cases. The role also involves supporting end-to-end delivery, from requirements gathering to hypercare, and integrating MM with other SAP modules and external systems.

AI-assisted productivity is a core aspect, applying AI tools to interpret requirements, validate data, diagnose errors, and generate documentation. You will integrate pre-built AI services for enhanced MM operations, like automated material classification or predictive signals for stock and delivery issues. Utilizing LLM-assisted troubleshooting will be crucial for reducing incident resolution times.

Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with procurement governance and operational controls. Participating in workshops and process optimization discussions, supported by AI-generated insights, is expected. Collaboration with procurement, finance, production, and other teams is essential for delivering cohesive MM solutions. Contributing reusable templates and AI-augmented best practices will also be part of the role.

A strong foundation in SAP MM is essential, including a deep understanding of P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management. Experience in configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies is required. Familiarity with integration across SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and knowledge of IDocs, outputs, and common MM troubleshooting patterns are necessary.

Hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators is vital. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation is expected, while custom AI model building is not a requirement. Understanding responsible AI usage, data quality impacts, and AI limitations in procurement contexts is also important.
