As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, coding, and enhancing software components across various systems and applications. Utilizing modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you will deliver scalable, high-performing solutions precisely tailored to unique business requirements. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to building robust, efficient software.
This position involves leveraging AI-powered tools and copilots to streamline the entire development lifecycle. You will accelerate requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution. The focus is on enhancing productivity through AI assistance without requiring deep expertise in complex AI model development or agentic systems.
Configure and optimize SAP Materials Management (MM) processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), purchase requisitions/orders, source lists, vendor management, inventory control, material master data, and release strategies. Employ AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configurations, create test cases, and automate documentation. Support end-to-end delivery, from requirements gathering to hypercare, and integrate MM with other SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and external systems using standard APIs and middleware.
Apply AI tools to expedite requirement interpretation, process design, data validation, and error diagnostics. Accelerate test creation, regression analysis, and impact assessments, while generating essential documents like functional specifications and standard operating procedures. Integrate pre-built AI services for enhanced MM operations, such as automated classification of materials, predictive signals for inventory, and intelligent summarization of procurement exceptions. Utilize LLM-assisted troubleshooting to reduce incident resolution times.
A strong foundation in SAP MM is essential, encompassing a deep understanding of P2P processes, purchasing flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management. Proven experience in configuring material and vendor masters, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies is required. Familiarity with integrations across SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing, and common MM troubleshooting patterns are crucial.
This role requires hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. You should be capable of integrating pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation, while understanding the principles of responsible AI usage and its limitations in procurement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in procurement and material management scenarios are necessary, along with the ability to translate business needs into logical SAP MM configurations. Clear communication and collaboration skills are vital, as is a continuous learning mindset for adopting AI-enabled productivity tools.
