Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer and be at the forefront of AI-native SAP solution development. You will leverage deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise, combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling, to build cloud-ready SAP solutions. This role is dedicated to designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that seamlessly integrate ABAP Cloud with advanced AI technologies like LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems. The focus is on moving beyond simple automation towards true operational autonomy.

Develop AI-native SAP applications by embedding LLM-driven intelligence into core business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern frameworks such as the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and event-driven patterns. Build robust, testable ABAP code that integrates effectively with AI services and enterprise APIs. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud for contextual and grounded responses. Design and implement agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory, orchestration, and evaluation loops. Construct retrieval pipelines using diverse SAP and non-SAP data sources, ensuring factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven workflows. Implement comprehensive evaluation frameworks and guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI applications for effective monitoring and failure analysis. Prototype rapidly, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback, while scaling prototypes into enterprise-grade production systems.

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required, with a maximum of 5 years considered. Essential skills include a strong command of SAP ABAP Cloud, encompassing RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is crucial. Proficiency in building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval is necessary. Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, and CI/CD practices, are expected. The ability to translate complex business problems into innovative AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement. A 15-year full-time education is mandatory for this role. Beneficial skills include experience with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, cloud services, agent frameworks, vector databases, and enterprise security patterns.
