This role focuses on developing sophisticated custom software solutions, enhancing components across various systems and applications. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions tailored to specific business requirements. The position involves building AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications and extensions, integrating deep ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI patterns.

The work emphasizes delivering production-grade solutions using HANA pushdown principles, contemporary ABAP, and governed AI capabilities. These capabilities will enable reasoning, context retrieval, and assistance within enterprise SAP workflows, without the need for training foundational models from scratch.

Design and develop ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, employing pushdown principles to maximize in-database processing and minimize data movement. Construct efficient data models and access patterns utilizing CDS views, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.

Build modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code adhering to clean architecture practices and enterprise SDLC. Develop services and APIs using modern paradigms like OData, ensuring stability, versioning, and contract-first behavior. Apply secure coding standards and authorization checks across all layers.

Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics for both transactional and analytical consumption. Design reusable data artifacts for downstream consumers and ensure lineage-friendly structures with consistent business definitions.

Develop AI-enabled SAP experiences by integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling orchestration, retrieval-grounded outputs (RAG) over governed SAP data, and deterministic fallbacks. Implement prompts, tool schemas, and context assembly strategies to minimize hallucinations and enforce enterprise safety boundaries.

Establish automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts to ensure regression coverage for performance and correctness. Create evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors and introduce guardrails for AI outputs, such as authorization-aware context filtering and action confirmations.

Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and root-cause analysis. Design robust error handling for enterprise flows, including retries and idempotency. Support incident response and continuously harden solutions based on observed failure patterns.

Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end solution correctness and performance. Rapidly prototype, demonstrate solutions, and evolve them into scalable production systems with security and compliance embedded.

A strong foundation in ABAP Development on HANA is essential, including expertise in performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns. Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling practices, such as associations, annotations, and authorization concepts, is required.

Experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown is necessary. Solid software engineering discipline, encompassing clean design principles, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness, is crucial.

Candidates must possess AI native build capabilities, including LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and implementing safety boundaries. Familiarity with OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is highly beneficial.

Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is advantageous. Knowledge of performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan driven tuning practices, and SAP security/authorizations for sensitive enterprise data is also beneficial.

A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is a mandatory requirement for this role.
