Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, specializing in creating AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions. This role leverages deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise alongside agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that seamlessly integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems, driving towards greater autonomy.

This position is not just about using AI tools; it's about actively building sophisticated AI systems. You will contribute to creating innovative SAP solutions that redefine how businesses operate by embedding advanced intelligence directly into core processes.

Design and develop innovative ABAP Cloud applications, embedding LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions utilizing modern frameworks like RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Craft clean, well-tested ABAP code for seamless integration with AI services and enterprise APIs. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to ensure contextual and grounded responses. Develop prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and robust safety boundaries tailored for enterprise SAP use cases. Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using both SAP and non-SAP data sources, ensuring factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven workflows. Implement comprehensive evaluation frameworks for AI behaviors and design essential guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Prototype rapidly, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback, ultimately scaling AI prototypes into enterprise-grade production systems.

A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience is required for this role.

Essential skills include a strong command of SAP ABAP Cloud, encompassing RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Demonstrated hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is crucial. Proven ability to build RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval systems is expected. Solid software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, and CI/CD practices, are necessary.

The capacity to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is paramount.

While not mandatory, experience with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, and cloud services is highly beneficial. Familiarity with agent frameworks or custom orchestration logic, exposure to vector databases or semantic indexing, and knowledge of enterprise security, authorization, and compliance patterns will further strengthen your candidacy.
