Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, focusing on the design, configuration, and enhancement of SAP Production Planning (PP) processes within discrete manufacturing. This role leverages AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline analysis, configuration, testing, and issue resolution. You will be instrumental in delivering efficient production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes, integrating pre-built AI services to enhance functionality.

This position is ideal for someone looking to apply modern frameworks and agile practices to create scalable, high-performing software solutions. The focus is on optimizing production workflows, not on deep AI model engineering or advanced AI system development.

Configure and support core SAP PP functionalities, including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Production Orders, Routings, Work Centers, BOM Management, Capacity Planning, Scheduling, Backflushing, Costing Integration, and Shop Floor Reporting. Utilize AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, validate routings/BOMs, generate test cases for key processes, and automate documentation.

Support the full delivery lifecycle from requirements and design through SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare. Ensure seamless integration of PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and MES systems using standard APIs and middleware. Leverage AI copilots for requirement summarization, MRP exception analysis, order execution validation, and faster defect isolation. Integrate pre-built AI services for predictive insights, intelligent issue classification, and automated summarization of production deviations.

A strong foundation in discrete manufacturing processes, including BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP, is essential. Experience integrating SAP PP with MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO, along with familiarity with order confirmations and shop floor data capture, is required.

Proficiency in using AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators is crucial. You should be comfortable embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning workflows and possess an awareness of responsible AI usage. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to translate manufacturing needs into SAP PP configurations, and strong communication and collaboration abilities are key.
