Join our team as a Core Infrastructure Engineer 2 to enhance distributed systems. Assist in the implementation and optimization of distributed system components, focusing on horizontal and vertical scaling. Develop fault-tolerant systems by learning about redundancy and failover mechanisms. Configure and test retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and timeouts to manage network variability. Implement testing and alarming configurations to proactively detect issues. Support failure recovery by drafting and executing runbooks. Build dashboards and alerting systems to monitor component health. Implement functional requirements and test scenarios, including fault-injection. Help implement data replication and synchronization techniques to maintain data integrity.

Diagnose and debug system component issues to ensure ongoing operation. Follow protocols to prevent interruptions for users during issue resolution. Run automation scripts for troubleshooting. Participate in operational support rotations, assisting with incident responses and root cause investigations. Assist in implementing basic security measures and executing remediation plans. Support the creation and updating of documentation for cloud infrastructure compliance.

We are seeking individuals with 3-5+ years of industry experience in commercial or open-source software. A strong command of C++, Java, or similar modern programming languages is required, alongside excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.

Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and building control plane systems for cloud scale is essential. Proficiency in systems programming, including multi-threading and concurrency, is necessary. A solid foundation in distributed systems concepts such as consistency, scaling, and failure recovery is expected. Experience with implementation testing, debugging, and documentation within a Linux development environment is also required.
