Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Core Infrastructure Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in implementing and optimizing components within our distributed systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply fundamental scalability principles, conduct performance and load testing, and configure essential resiliency features like retries and circuit breakers to ensure robustness against network variability. You will contribute to building comprehensive telemetry and alerting systems, develop runbook-driven procedures, and implement scoped features and fault-injection tests. A key aspect involves assisting with basic data replication and synchronization, participating in on-call rotations, and leveraging automation/IaC scripts for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span system design, reliability, and operational troubleshooting. You will assist in implementing scalable distributed system components, optimize code for large-scale data processing, and execute performance and load testing under guidance. We'll look to you to build fault-tolerant components, configure retry mechanisms and circuit breakers, and develop testing and alarming configurations. Additionally, you'll support failure recovery by drafting runbooks, help build monitoring dashboards, and implement functional requirements and test scenarios, including fault-injection.

Furthermore, you will assist in diagnosing system component issues, adhere to operational protocols to prevent interruptions, and run basic automation scripts. Participation in on-call rotations, assisting with incident responses, and implementing basic security measures like encryption and access controls will also be part of your role. You'll also support remediation plan execution and help maintain automation scripts and tools, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess a foundational understanding of system design and an eagerness to learn. While this position is open to freshers, a strong aptitude for problem-solving and collaboration is essential. You'll need to track timelines with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and collaborate seamlessly within the team. Developing a basic understanding of business needs and stakeholder expectations is crucial for building partnerships.

We encourage continuous learning and skill development, seeking out new tools and best practices. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement by implementing process updates and ideating on future enhancements. While specific degree requirements are not listed, a passion for infrastructure engineering and a proactive approach to problem-solving are highly valued.
