This role offers the chance to manage client engagements from our Global Delivery Services (GDS) hub, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. As an Assistant Manager, you will be the primary GDS contact for assigned tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. This position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret accounting standards, and excellent project management and communication skills. You will lead a team of Associate and Senior level personnel at GDS, overseeing task execution and performing critical reviews.

Key responsibilities include leading engagements from the GDS front, ensuring timely and high-quality work aligned with EY GAM and global team expectations. You will review procedures performed by GDS staff, leveraging EY tools for efficiency, and maintain strong relationships with global EY counterparts. Developing an understanding of EY Quality and Risk Management procedures is crucial, alongside proactive workflow management and resource allocation.

Other responsibilities involve monitoring team utilization and operational matters, demonstrating professionalism, and establishing clear expectations for value delivery. You will identify opportunities to enhance GDS scope, standardize review processes, and motivate your GDS team members. Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback are also integral to this role, requiring you to lead by example.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards, or alternatively, IFRS/UK GAAP/US GAAP and international review standards as an added advantage. Essential skills include excellent communication, effective interpersonal abilities, strong risk management, facilitation, and presentation skills. The capacity to confidently lead discussions with key stakeholders, coupled with robust logical and reasoning skills, is vital.

We require a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI), ACCA, or CPA with 3-4 years of post-qualification experience. This experience should be from a mid- to top-tier accounting firm focusing on external or assurance reviews, or from an MNC or larger domestic Indian company, preferably within a Shared Service environment. Alternatively, semi-qualified candidates with 6+ years of relevant Assurance work experience will be considered. Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook is also expected, along with a keen interest in business and commerciality.
