The Solution Architect is pivotal in translating client business needs into robust technology solutions and architectures. You will serve as the client's advocate, providing expert direction for complex, often project-based, technology designs, sometimes involving on-site customer engagement.

Gather and analyze insights from diverse stakeholders, including business sponsors and customers, to shape project definition and execution. Socialize business solutions and project approaches, incorporating feedback for necessary adjustments.

Champion the customer's perspective, leveraging an evidence-based approach to inform Product Engineering teams and the business. This feedback loop aims to enhance Microsoft's technologies, products, services, and offerings to better meet customer needs.

Define and meticulously document architectures, including architecture description documents, decision logs, and traceability matrices, to clearly communicate the business solution's value proposition and project strategy.

Collaborate with customers to demonstrate the tangible business value derived from solutions, such as revenue generation or cost savings. Manage and resolve ambiguities in requirements and constraints, documenting any assumptions made.

Generate novel intellectual property and identify opportunities for improving existing assets. Connect disparate business and technology areas to drive strategic changes and foster re-use of intellectual property. Recommend best practices in both pre-sales and delivery engagements, and actively participate in internal and external communities.

Lead virtual teams around specific technologies and customer challenges by sharing expertise, insights, and strategic/technical input. This collaboration extends across field technical teams, internal communities, and broader Microsoft virtual teams, utilizing a deep understanding of Microsoft architectures and their competitive positioning.

Demonstrate a strong command of complex business problems to ensure projects utilize appropriate technology and technical design. Possess enterprise-scale technical expertise in cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture design, database migrations, and technology management.

Showcase experience in migrating data from on-premises platforms to the cloud and designing cloud-native data warehouse solutions. Experience with transactional, temporal, time series, and both structured and unstructured data is essential.

Proficiency in Big Data and Data Warehouses, including technologies like Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Explorer. Familiarity with Advanced Analytics tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is required.

Expertise in Data Science and Machine Learning frameworks like Azure ML, ML Server, or TensorFlow. Experience with cloud infrastructure, storage optimization, and query optimization is critical.

Proven experience in delivering and managing the lifecycle of software/services using DevOps/MLOps practices. Strong proficiency in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure for managing and integrating data systems.

Knowledge of big data developments and technology architectures. Familiarity with data security measures and compliance regulations. Ability to design and model database, data warehouse, and data flow infrastructures. A solid understanding of data integration and the tools used to manage data flow is necessary.

To be considered, candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, combined with 8+ years of experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, or the Data & AI domain. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience, will be considered.

Additional requirements include 2+ years of experience managing multiple projects or portfolios and 1+ year of experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.

An alternative qualification pathway involves a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, or a specific technology domain (e.g., Security). This can also be met with a Master's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.

Further qualifications include 6+ years of technical sales experience, 6+ years of project management experience, and 3+ years of people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers. Professional certifications in a relevant domain (e.g., Security) are also valued.
