Job description

Join Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) as a Consulting Practice Leader, a global team dedicated to helping our most strategic customers worldwide. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving customer digital and AI transformations with cutting-edge, industry-specific solutions powered by Microsoft Cloud and AI. This role is crucial in shaping and executing projects, adapting business models, and providing expert guidance.

Leverage your deep understanding of customer needs and industry trends to design and deploy robust architecture solutions. You will be instrumental in developing new solutions, maintaining architectural documentation, and leading complex discussions to ensure business value and return on investment are prioritized. Your role involves close collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project governance and quality control.

Drive practice development by generating new intellectual property and improving existing ones. You will connect gaps and patterns across business and technology areas, fostering the reuse of intellectual property and recommending best practices. Act as a trusted advisor, building networks with senior decision-makers and influencing industry direction. Your ability to articulate complex concepts, challenge the status quo, and lead consensus will be vital.

Responsibilities

Gather comprehensive customer and partner insights from diverse stakeholders to define and execute projects effectively. Evaluate industry trends and adapt business models, plans, and solutions accordingly. Collaborate with stakeholders, including Enterprise Architects and Development Teams, to socialize business solutions and project approaches, making necessary adjustments.

Design and deploy scalable architecture solutions using structured methodologies like Agile or Waterfall. Develop and maintain architecture description documents, decision logs, and traceability matrices to clearly communicate the business solution's value proposition. Lead cost-based and technology-based discussions, focusing on business value and ROI.

Partner with Project Managers to drive project and technical governance for proofs of concept and pilots. Work with customers to demonstrate business value through cost savings and revenue release. Gather and ratify requirements and constraints, managing ambiguity and documenting assumptions. Develop and execute test plans to validate requirement implementation.

Collaborate with Account and Bid Teams to understand business challenges and drive agreement on solutions. Build and document realistically costed, complex solution approaches. Lead implementation oversight, governance, and quality practices. Ensure smooth transition to live operations and communicate adherence to the pre-sales value proposition.

Anticipate and identify potential blockers, orchestrating Microsoft teams to resolve technical issues. Report significant problems to management and resolve escalations. Plan innovative strategies for complex situations and delegate specialist skills to drive technical alignment.

Identify, categorize, and communicate business and technical risks with the Project Manager and Account Team. Define risk mitigation and contingency plans. Manage the delivery of consulting engagements across a portfolio of accounts as needed.

Generate and improve intellectual property, connecting business and technology patterns. Drive the reuse of intellectual property and contribute to internal and external communities. Develop relationships with senior-level decision-makers to build influence and facilitate problem-solving.

Provide direction to facilitate relationships between others. Stay updated on Microsoft technologies to communicate mission, strategy, and capabilities. Develop strategic relationships within customer portfolios to ensure service delivery and anticipate major issues.

Articulate complex concepts clearly to challenge decisions and encourage alternative approaches. Serve as the 'technical conscience' to challenge the status quo and balance outcomes. Drive consensus and lead conflict resolution.

Lead the adoption of Microsoft solutions by understanding competitor offerings and driving customer business value. Differentiate Microsoft solutions to influence industry-wide architectural direction.

Lead virtual teams around technologies and customer challenges, sharing insights and strategic input. Participate in external architect community events and share learnings internally. Mentor colleagues and share best practices. Demonstrate deep industry knowledge and drive recognition for Microsoft solutions.
