Join Deloitte's Technology & Transformation team as a Consultant SDET Engineer in Pune. This role is integral to our Engineering practice, focused on leveraging vast data to drive fact-driven decision-making and gain an insight-driven advantage.

Our practice excels in business intelligence, data management, performance management, and next-generation analytics. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including big data, cloud, cognitive computing, and machine learning to help companies manage and transform their data effectively.

Design, develop, and maintain robust API and microservices automation frameworks utilizing Java. Conduct thorough testing of Java-based APIs, microservices, core banking services, payment flows, and backend systems.

Validate end-to-end service interactions, system integrations, and customer journeys. Integrate automation suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Lead root cause analysis for defects and actively participate in defect triage to enhance overall quality governance.

Collaborate closely with backend, payments, cloud, and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality releases. Contribute to and review critical testing artifacts such as Test Strategy, Test Planning, and Test Management activities.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as an SDET or in QA Automation is required, with strong proficiency in Java-based API automation and a solid grasp of API development fundamentals. Hands-on experience with microservices testing within retail banking environments is essential.

Essential skills include strong programming in Java, mandatory ISTQB certification, and practical experience with API automation tools like REST Assured and Postman/Newman. Experience with Karate is preferred.

Demonstrated understanding of service contracts, mocking/stubbing, JSON/XML validation, API schema validation, and integration testing patterns is crucial. A solid background in retail banking processes, including accounts, cards, payments, onboarding, and transactions, is necessary.

Proficiency in CI/CD practices with Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, and strong experience with Linux, log analysis, and debugging backend flows are vital. Familiarity with API development fundamentals, including endpoints, status codes, payload structures, and authentication, is expected.
