This role is within our Actuarial Services team, focusing on Business Consulting Risk within the General Insurance sector.

Our Actuarial Services team provides expert advice to clients on a wide range of critical areas. These include reserving, pricing strategies, M&A support, capital requirements and solvency framework analysis, IFRS reporting, business planning, and optimization of reinsurance structures, alongside ensuring regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will be instrumental in executing projects within the Actuarial domain. We are seeking Actuaries with diverse experience in the Indian and global insurance markets. Your responsibilities will encompass a proactive role in multi-disciplinary EY teams, supporting client engagements across reserving, product development and pricing, statutory reporting, solvency assessment, IFRS17 implementation, and business planning.

You will be tasked with developing robust Excel models tailored to client product features and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to research and specialisms, such as Solvency II updates and IFRS17, to provide key insights. Developing innovative proposals for new client engagements, sharing knowledge effectively, and contributing to EY's profile through articles and presentations will also be key aspects of your role. Maintaining deep technical expertise in Excel modeling and presenting findings internally and externally are expected.

Success in this role requires a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines. Candidates should possess at least 6 months of hands-on experience in General Insurance (Actuarial domain) and have cleared a minimum of 4 actuarial exams. Essential attributes include the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, self-motivation, initiative, and an outcome-focused approach. Dealing effectively with uncertainty and ambiguity is crucial.

We are looking for individuals with a good working knowledge of relevant actuarial concepts and methodologies. Familiarity with tools such as R, Python, SAS, or SQL is beneficial. A solid understanding of the latest accounting standard, IFRS17, is highly desirable. Confidence in expressing technical views through various platforms, including publications and seminars, is also important. Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills are vital. Flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and broad consulting and project management skills are essential for collaborating effectively within client departments and delivering practical, insightful solutions.
