As an Associate Analyst within Risk Management, your primary focus in the Conflicts sub-function will be to identify and effectively manage potential conflicts of interest arising from new or existing client engagements.
This role empowers you to assist the firm and its client-serving professionals in making informed decisions regarding engagement acceptance, ensuring adherence to EY's internal compliance policies and regulatory frameworks.
Key responsibilities include evaluating engagement risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and assessing internal EY relationships with involved parties. You will help establish safeguards to manage potential conflicts to an acceptable level and identify matters requiring attention from an independence, ethical, and regulatory standpoint.
You will develop a deep understanding of EY's global and local conflict policies, conduct initial reviews of conflict check submissions, and analyze relevant entities involved in engagements to identify potential conflicts. This position also involves preparing conflict safeguards, understanding the firm's structure and strategies, and delivering on individual and team targets with a focus on quality and completion. Escalation of issues and sharing best practices are also key components of this role.
We seek a candidate comfortable operating in a fast-paced, unstructured, and complex environment that demands innovative thinking, robust logical reasoning, and strong communication skills, enabling prompt decision-making.
Essential qualifications include a post-graduate degree from a reputable institution and 1-2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Office suites, including Excel and PowerPoint, is a must.
Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively, both independently and collaboratively. Maintaining confidentiality of information is paramount. While prior experience in a compliance environment is preferred, it is not mandatory. Flexibility to work evening and night shifts is required for the Kochi center.
