The Community Development and Engagement team (CDE) is key to protecting Google's license to operate in markets worldwide.

As a Community Development Manager, you will merge community engagement expertise with industry knowledge to support Google's infrastructure expansion. Your responsibilities include providing insights and programmatic engagement based on community assessments for current and future data center markets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster social impact, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and government officials, and engage with community leaders, associations, and non-profit organizations.

This position is also responsible for managing daily execution of community development plans, driving global data center community impact through research into new market opportunities, and supporting the accelerated development of new data center projects. You will be instrumental in embedding best practices for community development within a rapidly growing organization, acting as a subject matter expert on data center delivery and strategic community engagement.

Lead global data center community development strategies, investments, and impact initiatives specifically for Visakhapatnam, India.

Engage actively with key opinion formers and diverse community groups, including municipal leaders, industry partners, economic development organizations, educational institutions, and non-profits, ensuring all initiatives align with community needs.

Collaborate with team leaders and peers to devise strategies for scaling sub-regional community affairs coverage in emerging markets. This involves a focus on place-based frameworks and partnerships to create development plans tailored to specific locations.

Develop effective communication tools and processes to inform local communities about the role and positive impact of our data centers. Create locally focused investment plans designed for long-term sustainability.

Build and nurture robust internal relationships with a wide array of stakeholders, including Acquisition and Development, Energy, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Cloud Supply Chain and Operations, Marketing, Google, and local Google Data Center teams.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required, complemented by a minimum of 8 years in program or project management.

Demonstrated experience in organizing community engagement events and building relationships with local municipalities, associations, key opinion formers, non-profit decision-makers, and educational institutions is essential.

Proficiency in creating and implementing external communication plans, including crisis communication management, utilizing modern communication strategies, is necessary.

Proven ability to manage programs and processes across distributed systems and effectively manage contractors, agencies, or other third parties is required.

Fluent communication in Telugu is a mandatory requirement to support client relationship management within the designated region.
