The Community Development and Engagement (CDE) team plays a vital role in business growth by accelerating infrastructure development and expansion, safeguarding Google's operational presence worldwide. We leverage community partnerships and specialized expertise to deliver impactful solutions for community development.

As a Community Development Manager, you will integrate community engagement knowledge with industry insights to bolster Google's infrastructure expansion. Your role involves supporting Google Data Centers' (GDC's) community development objectives by providing assessments and engagement programs for current and future data center markets. You'll collaborate with various teams to foster social impact, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and government officials, and connect with community leaders, associations, and non-profits in the designated region.

You will oversee the daily execution of community development plans, working across departments to amplify global data center community impact. This includes identifying new market opportunities and facilitating the expedited development of new data center projects. Furthermore, you will champion community development best practices within a growing organization, serving as a subject matter expert in data center delivery and strategic community engagement.

Spearhead global data center community development strategies, investments, and impact initiatives specifically for Visakhapatnam, India.

Forge connections with key opinion leaders and community groups, including municipal officials, industry collaborators, economic development agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations, ensuring all activities address genuine community needs.

Partner with team leaders and colleagues to devise strategies for expanding sub-regional community affairs coverage in emerging markets. Focus on place-based frameworks and collaborations to create tailored development plans for specific locations.

Create effective communication materials and processes to inform local communities about the significance and positive impact of our data centers. Develop localized investment plans designed for long-term sustainability.

Establish and nurture robust internal relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Acquisition and Development, Energy, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Cloud Supply Chain and Operations, Marketing, Google, and local Google Data Center teams.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is essential.

Possess at least 8 years of experience in program or project management.

Demonstrated experience in organizing community engagement events, fostering connections with local municipalities, associations, key opinion formers, non-profit decision-makers, educational institutions, and community members.

Proven track record in developing and implementing external communication plans, including crisis communication management, utilizing contemporary communication strategies.

Experience managing programs and processes across distributed systems and overseeing contractors, agencies, or other third parties.

Exceptional ability to communicate fluently in Telugu is required to effectively manage client relationships within this region.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or equivalent practical experience, alongside experience in developing and launching public-private partnerships at local, state, national, or global levels. Expertise in areas such as data centers, utilities, government, or advanced manufacturing, coupled with experience using analytics for decision-making, is highly advantageous. The ability to thrive in a multinational environment, collaborate across business lines, and travel up to 25% of the time for multi-market data center portfolio needs is also beneficial.
