Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Commissioning Project Engineer, playing a vital role in delivering data center capacity across the Asia Pacific, Japan, and China (APJC) region. AWS is the leading cloud platform globally, and our Infrastructure team is at the forefront of its design, planning, and operation.

This position offers a structured development program within our Commissioning organization. You will receive comprehensive onboarding and training on AWS commissioning processes and management systems, benefit from mentorship by experienced team members, and gain exposure to diverse project types, including mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within our global data center portfolio.

The role provides a clear progression pathway, allowing you to advance towards a Business Analyst / Program Coordinator role in program management or a Commissioning Engineer role in a technical track. You'll contribute to a dynamic team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, all dedicated to powering the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure.

In this capacity, you will offer crucial project management support to commissioning engineers, handling both administrative and process-oriented tasks. Your duties will encompass vendor onboarding, procurement coordination, and the meticulous management of commissioning workflows.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with seasoned commissioning professionals. A key aspect of this role involves analyzing commissioning workflow data to pinpoint bottlenecks and proposing process improvements that ensure the smooth execution of data center construction projects throughout AWS's infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include managing the creation of projects within internal Amazon systems, overseeing financial and vendor management tasks within the commissioning process, and supporting the Request for Quote (RFQ) process to ensure vendors have all necessary documentation for detailed quotes. You will also provide administrative support to commissioning engineers, organize and maintain commissioning documentation, and actively gather feedback from engineers and stakeholders to implement workflow enhancements.

The fundamental responsibility of a Project Engineer is to cultivate a deep understanding of AWS's critical infrastructure and the principles of managing a commissioning project. You will be introduced to internal project management tools and gain hands-on experience through on-site commissioning activities.

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a Master's degree or higher in the same fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project at an advanced level, is required. The role also demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Preferred qualifications extend to knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience in designing experiments and performing statistical analysis of results.
