As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be instrumental in resolving complex customer issues and providing essential support to other teams. You will contribute to a global, 24x7 support system, assisting customers in their transition to Google Cloud and ensuring their success.
This role involves hands-on problem-solving, encompassing debugging, networking, system administration, documentation enhancement, and coding/scripting. Your work will directly contribute to making our products more accessible and effective by driving improvements in product, tools, processes, and documentation. Your customer-centric approach will be key to advocating for client needs and driving the overall success of Google Cloud.
Manage critical customer issues through effective diagnosis and resolution, developing new investigation tools to boost productivity on Google Cloud Platform products.
Gain deep expertise in Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, identifying root causes of customer-reported issues, and building diagnostic tools.
Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant for internal stakeholders across engineering, sales, and customer organizations to overcome technical deployment challenges and enhance Google Cloud.
Champion customer needs by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to implement product improvements and ensure high-quality production.
Contribute to a global team ensuring 24-hour customer support, which may involve adapting to non-standard work hours or shift patterns.
A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Possess at least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting, advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues across hardware, software, applications, operations, or processes.
Demonstrated experience in reading or debugging code using languages such as Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, or JavaScript.
Excellent English communication skills are essential for managing client relationships within the region.
Preferred qualifications include experience with network infrastructure device implementation and administration, advanced network troubleshooting techniques like packet analysis, and familiarity with cloud solutions such as SQL database administration, Google App Engine, open source communities, cloud networking, or distributed computing. System/network administration knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing) are also beneficial, as is a grasp of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP).
