Join a pioneering Azure squad as a Senior Azure Platform Engineer, shaping the future of cloud infrastructure for a leading UK financial services organization. As a foundational member, you'll architect and implement reusable platform components like landing zones, Terraform modules, and CI/CD pipelines.

This role offers a unique opportunity to define engineering standards and best practices from inception. You will collaborate closely with a UK-based Engineering Lead and an established AWS squad, working within two-week sprints to deliver a self-service internal developer platform. Your expertise will be crucial in setting the engineering bar and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- Design and construct Azure landing zone elements, including subscription vending, networking, identity integration, and policy guardrails, as reusable Terraform modules. - Take full end-to-end ownership of key platform products, encompassing design, development, testing, documentation, and release management. - Develop and maintain robust GitHub Actions pipelines for infrastructure delivery, integrating security scanning, policy checks, testing, and cost controls as essential quality gates. - Contribute to the engineering of Azure Local and hybrid capabilities, extending the platform's reach into the client's private cloud environment. - Build and manage pipelines for hardened compute standard images, covering the build, test, and publication phases. - Package platform functionalities into self-service "golden paths" accessible via the Port.io developer portal. - Help establish and enforce squad conventions, including code review discipline, module structure, testing standards, and documentation, through peer review.

- A minimum of 10 years in infrastructure, cloud, or DevOps engineering, with at least 8 years of hands-on Azure engineering experience. - Deep expertise in enterprise Azure, covering management groups, subscription design, Azure Policy, networking (hub-spoke or vWAN), Entra ID, and security baselines. - Advanced, production-level proficiency with Terraform, including writing reusable modules, managing state, versioning, and testing infrastructure code. - Practical experience building infrastructure pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab CI), with a commitment to standardizing on GitHub Actions. - Strong engineering discipline, including proficient Git workflows, code review practices, and documentation habits; experience working in agile, sprint-based teams is essential. - Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment involving UK-based technical leadership and client stakeholders.
