Join our innovative team as a CICS Systems Programmer in Bangalore and contribute to the stability and performance of critical CICS services within an IBM Mainframe environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continuous improvement and operational excellence of our engineering services, adapting to evolving technology.
You'll be instrumental in system programming, infrastructure support, technical analysis, and solution design, playing a key role in the deployment and ongoing support of vital systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and communication abilities, ready to tackle both strategic goals and daily operational demands.
As a CICS Systems Programmer, your responsibilities include installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining CICS systems software. You will manage CICS resource definitions, support production environments with on-call availability, and handle installations, testing, and implementation of CICS Transaction Server updates.
This role involves providing Level 2 and Level 3 support, collaborating with development and support teams to resolve complex issues, and leading incident determination and root cause analysis. You will also design and implement new technology solutions for enhanced service availability and efficiency, monitor performance, and develop backup and recovery procedures. Administering user access controls, performing capacity planning, and ensuring data security are also key duties.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience, alongside a minimum of 5 years in Mainframe Systems Programming with a CICS specialization. Essential hands-on experience includes CICS Transaction Server, SMP/E, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and RACF.
Demonstrated ability in installing, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting CICS environments is crucial. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience supporting production-critical systems, and a solid understanding of performance management and capacity planning. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in global teams are expected.
